Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate and timely billing - Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of medical billing codes (ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG) to assign appropriate codes for billing purposes - Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail - Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues - Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing purposes - Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines - Provide excellent customer service to patients, and insurance companies
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related field -Vascular billing experience preferred - Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and medical billing processes - Knowledge of insurance guidelines, reimbursement processes, and medical collection practices - Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment - Proficient in using computer systems and software applications relevant to medical billing Note:
