South Area/Barefoot Bay WWTP.
Work schedule is shift work and includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Performs skilled technical work supervising the operation and routine maintenance of a Class B or smaller wastewater treatment plant.
Responsible for compiling and submitting required records and reports.
Supervises other treatment plant staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or its equivalent, as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) PLUS four (4) years of experience as a certified operator in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
An Associate's or two (2) years of college coursework in a science-related field is preferred.
Two (2) years of experience in the mechanical repair of wastewater treatment and pumping equipment, including pumps, motors, and valves is preferred.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
Must possess a current active Florida Class B or higher Treatment Plant Operator certification, issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), and maintain said certification during the term of employment.
Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including appropriate respiratory protection.
In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural orman-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
